The Best Romantic Places in Bucharest, Romania

The following is a review of some of the best romantic places for men to take a nice lady in Bucharest, Romania.

‘Infinitea’ is a wonderful Tea House which has a wonderful garden. Once you reach this place you might feel like dreaming. The décor is of good taste with classic and baroque accents.

‘Infinitea’ offers a wide range of teas with appetizing names. I must say that it is pretty complicated to make up your mind about what to order.

I highly recommend the cookies they have. Carefully chosen, these amplify the tea flavor.

Each teapot has 800 ml. so usually it is enough for two.

‘Infinitea’ is usually a quiet place which is located in one of the most expensive neighborhoods of Bucharest. No matter the season, Cotroceni neighborhood is a nice place for a walk; it is quiet and peaceful, it has many old houses which offer a nice view for the ones passionate about architecture.

Coming back to ‘Infinitea’, I truly recommend it for its cozy atmosphere, tea specialties and location; and not to forget, last summer, they have opened another level to the terrace, which is placed on a hill). Tea Prices: from 10 to 25 RON. Open hours: daily 12:00 – 23:00 Address: Str. Dr. Grigore Romniceanu nr.7 Web address: Reservations at: 0040723175300 /

Biutiful by Fratelli

When you walk in, you will see where the name comes from: it is indeed beautiful, an enormous industrial-chic space with a little added glamour (check out the lights and the comfy sofas), creating a rather special atmosphere. It is one of the nicest places in the Old Center, furnished with very good taste: a nice mix of old and new, cheap and expensive.

They have great food and amazing cocktails. You should try the horseradish sandwich, their burgers (tower) or nachos and the Knickerbucker Glory desert. When you order food they bring a basket full of various and very tasty sauces.

Good music.

Camera din Fata

The name means ‘Front room’, and being here makes you feel just like being in somebody’s front room.

It’s one of the best cafes to open in Bucharest for years. Great coffee and tea served in great mugs from gorgeous tea pots. The small and cozy space, very tastefully decorated aspect and the great service, makes it very intimate, and romantic.

People here are very friendly and lengthen the stories, like friends you have not seen for a long time. It’s a very nice place that will leave a good impression.

Recommendation: You should try the homemade cakes, they are delicious! Also the Stencha Champ green tea is pretty good. It’s recommeneded that you make a reservation ahead.

Bon is another great looking restaurant with a design signed by one of our best designers. It’s made to impress but to also empty your wallet. It has 3 salons: the Oval Table Salon, the Orangerie and the Wine Bottles Salon. The theatrical setting and the wall paneling made of over 300 salvaged wooden doors brought from Austria, Hungary and Transilvania, makes you fell like you are in a French bistro on the banks of Seine.

It’s a great place to eat, the food being very tasty and of French style as for the staff it’s one of the best in Bucharest, the service is perfect.

Recommendation: You should try the foie gras with black truffles, argentian beef and the tarte au citron

Other info: the restaurant is situated at the second floor

Thomas Antiques

This is a one-of-a-kind bar in Bucharest, being a 4in1 concept store, bar, pub and museum. For retro style and antique lovers this is the place to go as here, you get to drink a glass of fine wine at century old table sitting on a renaissance chair or a stag armchair while above you hear the tic-tac of a very expensive pendulum clock. The idea to open a bar in an antique shop deserves the top mark for originality.

Considering the opulence of this location you would expect to leave some serious cash behind when in fact the price range is quite in the reasonable bounds. You can read old books here and events like market, classical music concert, movie night are often held. Here you will feel that grandparent’s attic full of antiques and beautiful artifacts. Who knows, maybe in the late evening you’ll leave here with an object that you could not help but buy for your loved one.

Other info: you cannot eat here, but nevertheless you should not miss this location

Budget: ~ 50 lei, drink and dessert

This magical place is a representation of the Turkish culture and cuisine in Bucharest, a mix of dualities: classic and modern, conservative and bold, bohemian and tumultuous. It is leveled on two stories, the ground level consist of standard tables and chairs while the first level consist of divans. To the strong Oriental atmosphere add the Turkish costumes of the waiters. Even the bathroom has the same décor. You can clearly see the importance placed on authenticity here and if you are lucky enough to dine on a Saturday night, a belly dancer will spice up your already spicy experience. The food consists of traditional Turkish plates and specialties, cooked by an eccentric Turkish chef by the name of Salih Kilic and it is just great.

You can also smoke the narghile here or drink modern cocktails. From the Middle Eastern atmosphere and superb decor to the great service, Divan is a lesson in creating a good restaurant. Other info: to not be mistaken with Divan Express, their fast-food twin. Recommendation: for an intimate and romantic ambiance sit at the second floor. Try their Ground lamb on skewer or the Hand minced beef. Also the Divan kebab is great and the Kunefe desert.

Doamnei 21 Restaurant (ex Gallienus)

This is one of the best quoted restaurants in Bucharest. It’s a luxury location that promises to give you an unforgettable culinary experience. It has two levels, the first street level is very tastefully decorated in an ancient roman style with bas-reliefs, forged iron, chandeliers, and a basement level where initially it was a cellar, now it’s an intimate space where you can dine or have a glass of wine in a cool environment, especially in the hot summer days. The background music is carefully selected according to the time of the day or it can be adapted to the client’s wishes.

The staff has a flawless attitude, making you feel special, offering a continuous service, with great attention to detail and a high regard towards a correct table mise-en-place.

The chef is a complete artist, not only that he cooks exceptionally in a traditional Sicilian style, but you can also be fortunate enough to hear him play the piano and sing, and he sings as he cooks.

Despite what this restaurant offers the prices are not out of reach, in fact they’re quite affordable. Other info: ask for the tour of the restaurant, they’ll be happy to do it, ask to meet the chef. Recommendation: Try their deserts especially the tiramisu and the amazing somon in mustard sauce.

Budget: ~ 160 lei, main course, dessert and drinks for two

Open hours: Mon – Sun: 11:00 am – 12:00 am

Galleron Grand Cafe

Situated in the heart of Bucharest, in an old and imposing villa, Galleron Grand Cafe makes a lasting impression through its traditional Romanian architecture. There’s a variety of rooms each with its own charm (library, orangery, cigar bar, British Salon). The ambiance is very intimate and elegant with relaxing music (on Fridays live) and TVs set on The History Channel which completes this select picture. Seldom the café is used also as an artist paintings exposition, which comes as a bonus.

The waitresses are very kind and offer a good service. There’s a large variety of drinks and food you can choose from and the kitchen will spoil you with fresh, refined, top quality dishes.
